Pakistan Blocks Facebook Over Caricatures of Prophet Muhammad

A Pakistani court has ordered the authorities to temporarily block Facebook due to a contest that calls for caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad.
The court order follows a petition by a group called the Islamic Lawyers’ Movement, which complained that the contest was “blasphemous.” A search on Facebook reveals two sites featuring such caricatures: one supporting Kurt Westergaard, the Danish cartoonist who created the caricature of the Prophet, published in Danish newspapers in 2005.
The other group is openly calling for caricatures of Prophet Muhammad, claiming in the group descriptions that it has noble intent. From the description: “This group is for everyone, regardless of nationality, political or religious believes, who believe in and want to defend freedom of speech and the foundation of democracy wherever it is being threatened in the world!” In the photo section of the group, one can indeed find several caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad.
Facebook is to remained blocked in Pakistan until May 31. Justice Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhry of the Lahore High Court ordered the department of communications to submit a written reply to the Islamic Lawyers’ Movement petition by that date. In 2008, Pakistan blocked YouTube, also because of caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad that found their way onto the video-sharing site.

freedom of speech…. huh! This also includes that if someone talks ill about you or your loved ones then let him/her do that because freedom-of-speech is every human’s basic right! well you know what dude… some people don’t just get this freedom-of-speech concept! if you even just speak bad about them or their loved ones… they’ll probably bang your head… this kind (we’ll call it Kind A) is everywhere regardless of religion or country!!
And you know what there is another kind (lets call it kind ‘B’) who, continuously, think ways to ruin peace or people’s lives. So when you tell them not to indulge in adultery… they take it to next level and start pornography sites to attract more and more people towards the same! when you tell them not to fight with others…. they take it to next level and start activities to get groups or nations into fighting! when you tell them not to do fraud with others… they take it to next level and come up with attractive and sophisticated ways to ruin whole families or nations.
AND when you tell them not to speak bad of God’s Prophets… they take it to next level by introducing “Innocent” ways to insult Messengers of God! now these “innocent” people could have start a contest of their own Prophets like Jesus or Moses but they won’t do it because it will not help their cause to ruin world peace!! Now Muslims respect both of these personalities, Jesus & Moses, (more than their own people do) as Messengers of God. We don’t like to disrespect any of God’s Prophets but if Christians or Jews want to draw them we won’t protest although we do mind all these kind of activities! So they had to pick a personality whom half of the world respects more than their own lives… or more than the lives of their loved ones… because this can ignite half of the world real bad…. brilliant…. right?!
And at top of this if someone only start spreading the truth about this kind ‘B’ people, they take it pretty bad… they not only put a ban on every such person but they’ll also try to abduct or “arrest” such people from any part of the world to make an example!
Now honestly tell me who of these Kind A Vs. B sounds worse? Kind B…. right, then why try being among the worse kind!
Freedom of Speech…….. Right ??! I’ll be waiting for my account & password!!
